I’ve been blessed with the job of a Postpartum Doula.
God pretty much threw it in my lap, as He tends to do. I prayed for more money and He sent me a job. He tends to do that too. Next time I pray specifically that I win the lottery. I did win the job lottery though.
Being there when first time parents bring their baby home from the hospital.
Being there when Momma is just so dang tired in the middle of the night.
Being there when Mom and Dad just need a breather together.
Being there when sweet twins want to be cuddled at the same time.
Folding the laundry so Momma can snuggle her baby.
Reading to siblings so Mom and baby have space.
Making sure Mom is adequately hydrated.
Changing that 97th diaper so Mom can stay in bed.
Tracking the feeds. And diapers.
Walking and soothing teething baby.
Compassionate.
Listening.
Extra hands.
Empathy.
Care.
Joy.
I’m blessed by the families. I’m blessed by the babies. It’s good to be here.
